under CONstrUcTIon

For all my friends that love yard sales, tag sales, garage sales, estate sales, whatever you call them...and you love them...this post is for you.

A few weeks ago you saw the beautiful collection of Lefton china I got from one of my favorite antique dealers (thank you Nancy!).

I got a notice that she was hosting an estate sale at a home across the lake...I only hoped there would be some treasures left by the time I got off work.

I've been shopping (wishing) for a vintage / lake cottage style quilt and bedding. Like something really soft from the L.L. Bean or Ralph Lauren collections. Reason I mentioned wishing...I can't afford my good taste ;p!

So, as I wandered through room to room of this cute lakehouse, I picked them up...one in one room, two in the next...until...I gathered all nine of these.

Just look at the details....

BIG buttons...

BIG checks and toile...

BIG down stuffed (yes, I said down) European shams....

AND it all matches my grandmother's quilt, and her white chenille / popcorn bedspread.

I can't wait to put it all together...got to find the dust ruffle...and it will be complete. I promise I'll post when I get it all put together.

I love the patterns, I love the colors, but most of all...I'll love recalling all the great memories with my grandmother. It will bring a smile to my face every time I walk into this bedroom. Life is so good...

(oh, btw... I spent a total of $79 for all the nine of the down pillows and nine cases...yes, life is good - and again, thank you Nancy)

I've Seen Wonderful

For months you've been patient with me.

You've allowed me to gush about becoming a grandmother - a Lolli.

Well let me tell you...you haven't seen gushing yet!

Meet her...isn't she just the most beautiful baby God ever loaned a family?

Their circle is complete....

His heart melts each time he holds her...

I know it is a privilege to be her Lolli...
And have have shed tears as I've looked at her through a grandmother's eyes.

Mummy and Nelda...there are just no words...

She is Mackenzie, she is perfect, she is loved...she is the link that will hold all of us together...forever.
